Kim's Family Korean Restaurant (West Coast)

Kim's Family Korean Restaurant is just opposite my house and I have been wanting to try their food ever since I spied it a few months ago, but I have only managed to do so today. Every meal comes with these 10 Korean side dishes. They look good, don't they? I don't know how authentic they are since I have not have not had the chance to visit Korea yet, but they taste quite good to me. These should keep you occupied while your main course is being cooked.      I chose to have the   Bibigo Set   (there is a choice of beef or chicken, I chose beef) . Thick pieces of beef are cooked in rich and savoury sauce. These will taste so good with some hot steamy rice.     The   Bibigo Set   comes with   Cold Noodles   (there is a choice of spicy and non-spicy, I chose non-spicy). Nothing beats having a bowl of   Cold Noodles   on a hot and humid day like today. The noodle is buckwheat noodles. In addition to the usual cucumber ...

Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room (IMM)

It was the long weekend thanks to Hari Raya Puasa. My parents and I decided to have lunch outside, and I suggested IMM because I thought it would be less crowded. It is still crowded, but then everywhere would be crowded since it is a long weekend.     We decided to have our lunch at Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room because we wanted something cheap.       The   Claypot Mixed Beef   quite a disappointment. The beef have been cooked for too long and the meat is old.   Soup of The Day   is not too bad. It is flavourful and full of ingredients. Crispy Brinjal with Pork Floss   was interesting. The brinjal is fried to crispy on the outside but it is very tender on the inside. Stir-Fry Milk Cabbage with Garlic is   delicious. The milk cabbage is cooked just right, retaining its crunchiness.    If you just want something cheap to fill your stomach and the taste of the food is not really that important, this is the place for you....

Oysters Grill & Bar Wharf (Robertson Quay)

I would like to dedicate this first post to Stella Evangaline Toh, without whom this website would not have existed. We came up with the idea of starting a food blog and naming it Hungry Ghost together. She was the one who introduced me to Oysters Grill & Bar Wharf, the restaurant that made me fall in love with oysters. Before I was introduced to Oysters Grill & Bar Wharf, my perception of oysters stops at those slimy little things in Oyster Omelette. If you are like me, trying fresh oysters for the first time, I would suggest that you start off with the   Fried Oysters , which is what I did. Don't they look like four perfect golden nuggets? The oysters used for Fried Oysters are mostly Canadian oysters, and they taste like melted cheese. There is sauce in the shell, but I like to taste the natural taste of my food.   When you have graduated from Fried Oysters, you are ready for the   Fresh Oysters . You can start off with half a dozen fir...
