10 Best Restaurants in Suntec City Mall

Today is Hungry Ghost's 1st Year Anniversary. Happy Birthday, Hungry Ghost! You are my baby and I have enjoyed every single moment of our journey together. Thank you, my dear readers, for your support and love throughout the past 1 year. I thought I will commemorate this special day with the first "list" post. Happy reading, everyone!   Since 2012, Suntec City has been undergoing a $410 million makeover and it is almost over. The new shopping mall houses many major international brands such as Pandora, Sincere Fine Watches and Nine West. Even more exciting is the food scene at Suntec City. With over 80 dining destinations to choose from, you will feel spoilt for choice. Here are 10 restaurants worth checking out in Suntec City, 10 restaurants serving 10 different cuisines:   Chinese: Din Tai Fung   There are quite a few notable Chinese restaurants in Suntec City Mall, but Din Tai Fung has an impressive menu that covers all the best dishes in Chinese cuisine, not forgettin...

Bottura

Massimo Bottura is the man behind three-Michelin-star restaurant Osteria Francescana, which has been listed in the top 5 at The World's Best 50 Restaurants since 2010.    Bottura, a name synonymous with authentic Italian cooking back by generations worth of culinary experience, has come to Singapore in the form of a three-in-one dining establishment in Suntec City Mall complete with a cafe-lounge and a retail section stocked with dry goods imported from Italy.        Pizza con Tartufo: pate di tartufo mozzarella has only two ingredients: truffle pate and mozzarella. I fell in love with its delicious aroma when it arrived at my table. It is a thin-crust pizza of just two ingredients yet it tastes better than any of the pizzas I have tasted. The waitress told me that the pizzas are baked in a low oven with rotating base, making the crust extra crispy.      I Dolci Secondo Bottura: La Deguszione   is dolci degustation of 4 desserts. I was s...

Sushi Goshin by Akashi (Suntec City)

Sushi Goshin is one of the few restaurants that opened in the newly-renovated Suntec City Mall but I have never quite manage to gather enough courage (or money) to venture inside because it looked like an upscale Japanese restaurant and that usually means hefty price tags, until they put up poster to show the prices of the sushi, which are not that expensive.        Sushi Goshin is known for their sashimi, so I ordered   Sashimi Platter   which includes (top to bottom) maguro (tuna), kanpachi (yellowtail), sake (salmon), hotate (scallop), amaebi (sweet shrimp), tako (octopus) and hokkigai (surf clam). Everything is so fresh and sweet and I enjoyed every bite.      Aburi is a way of preparing sushi by searing the sushi with a flame. This is my first Aburi encounter and I went a little overboard (left to right, top to bottom)  - Aburi Shake, Aburi Hotategai, Aburi Shime Saba and  Aburi Foie Gras. I love them all!  ...

PappaRich (Suntec City)

PappaRich has been around for quite a while, but it is only when it opened an outlet in Suntec City that I got to sample their Malaysian offerings.        I like that the   Bandung   is not overly sweet with subtle rose fragrance.     I wanted to try a little of everything so I ordered   Super Rich Combo   which includes aromatic nasi rich served with fried chicken drumstick, aromatic braised beef, sweet and spicy squid, potato, hard-boiled egg, lady's finger, papadum and sambal. The chicken drumstick is tender with crispy skin. Braised beef is a little over-tenderized. Potato, hard-boiled egg and lady's finger is unremarkable. My favorite portions of the meal are the sweet and spicy squid and papadum. The tentacles are stuffed into the squid giving it a statifactory bite. Papadum is crispy and light.      I totally enjoyed   Pappa Cendol . Coconut milk and palm sugar is drizzled over the mountain of ice, topped with ...

Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant - Dim Sum Buffet

I am just as surprised as you are that Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant actually served dim sum, because Ah Yat is famous for their seafood. Well, I chanced upon a promotion online for "Eat All You Can" Dim Sum Buffet so I called up Stella to join me. We went crazy and ordered so much food, I wouldn't be surprised if we get blacklisted.          Round 1     I personally fell that the   Steamed Shanghai Dumpling 上海小笼包   is every bit as good as Din Tai Fung's Xiao Long Bao or Paradise Dynasty's Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao. Tender pork filling and delicious pork broth is sealed in a thin skin.      I am a huge fan of anything with custard, so this   Steamed Bun with Custard & Salted Egg 奶黄流沙包   is right up my alley. Eat it the moment it is served and you will taste the saltish custard fill your mouth; it's the most wonderful feeling. My only complaint is there is too little filling.     Doesn't the ...
