Sedap Dan Sihat Steam Pot Delicacy - Halal Steam Pot Restaurant at Woodlands

Sedap Dan Sihat means “tasty and healthy” in Malay, is a steam pot restaurant run by Kopitiam. It is certified halal by the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore (MUIS) and my Muslim friends have been raving about it on Facebook and Instagram.          Located at the back of Vista Point in Woodlands besides Kopitiam, Sedap Dan Sihat offers both indoor air-conditioned seating and outdoor alfresco seating. The restaurant has two levels, the ground floor is for walk-in customers and small groups while the upper level is used for private functions.                         You can order ingredients either individually from the ala carte menu or order Set A - F, depending on the number of people in the group. Prices range from $30-58 for 2 persons set to $108-$128 for 5-6 persons set.    There are also ready-cooked meals such as Chicken Rice [$6.50 for 1 person, $12 for 2 people] if you ...

Aloha Poke - The Pioneer of Poke Bowl Opens New Out in CityLink Mall

Poke (pronounced "Poh-Kay") is a type of raw fish salad that is a staple in Hawaiian cuisine. Traditionally, poke consists of seasoned   aku   (tuna) or   he'e   (octopus) tossed with   maui   onions,   inamona(a condiment made of roasted salted candlenut), soy sauce, green onions and sesame oil.      Aloha Poke was founded by two couples who had craving for poke after they returned from Hawaii but they could not find a suitable alternative in Singapore, so they decided to make their own poke. After numerous tries, they founded Aloha Poke.     Aloha Poke was the pioneer of poke bowls in Singapore and a slew of poke restaurants followed in Singapore including   Doke Poke ,   Rollie Ollie   and Sprout among many others.       You can customise your poke bowl by choosing your size [Lil’ Swell $11.90, Standard Nalu $15.90, Big   Kahuana   $19.90], base (White Rice/Brown Rice/Ric...

Masizzim (Westgate) - Korean Food with a Modern Twist

Masizzim created quite a stir when it opened its first outlet at 313   Somerset   in 2015 and again in 2017 when the second outlet at Westgate opened.    Masizzim is a Korean casual restaurant that is hugely popular in South Korea. Brought in by K Food Holdings who also brought in Chir Chir, Masizzim is a combination of two Korean words: “masi” which means “delicious” and “zzim” which means “stew”. Masizzim is famous for their “galbi   jjim”, beef and pork stew dishes.        Tuna Seaweed Egg Roll [$10.80] and   Honey Mustard Cheese Egg Roll   [$9.80] are two of the newer side dishes that   have   become hugely popular. I thought the tuna and seaweed combination is pretty common so I decided to go with the Honey Mustard Cheese Egg Roll. I like the rolled egg omelette which reminds me a little of Japanese tamagoyaki and the addition of oozy cheese makes it more luxurious. I personally feel that the honey musta...
