Mademoiselle Tang Noodle 唐大小姐 - Yunan Specialty Dish and Snacks

Most Singaporeans does not realise that there is another building just a few steps from Novena Square called Royal Square. It is an integrated development which houses Courtyard by Marriott, medical practices and shops.    Mademoiselle Tang Noodle 唐大小姐 is located near to the entrance of Royal Square, so you should have no problem locating it.    Mademoiselle Tang Noodle specializes in Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, a speciality of Yunan, China.   Honguo   is another restaurant that specializes in this dish.      This menu can be found on   Mademoiselle Tang Noodle's Facebook Page .   Besides Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, Mademoiselle Tang also has various other rice noodle dishes and specialty snacks.      This is the   Signature Rice Noodle   [S$12.90] which the restaurant is known for. 13 ingredients such as prawn, fish, ribs and a variety of vegetables are served in individual mini plates in wooden grid box. Wan Tan Kia 老派云吞仔 - Wanton Noodles in Various MRT Stations

A few weeks ago, I noticed that a new shop has taken over the spot where Traditional Penang Food used to be. It is a new wanton stall called Wan Tan Kia, which can be loosely translated into “the wanton boys”.    Wan Tan Kia opened its first stall at Esplanade Xchange and it has since opened branches in Marine Parade and various MRT stations.     I like that it is located in MRT station, making it easy for commuters like myself to grab a quick bite. Let’s check out this new wanton noodle shop.     There are only 6 items on the menu which takes out the hassle of having to choose from different options.      This is their   Signature Dry Wanton  [S$3for Regular, S$4 for Medium, S$5 for Large]. I like that the egg noodles does not have a strong yeast taste but the portion is a little small. It comes with char siew, wanton and vegetables.    There is also soup version Traditional Wanton Noodle Soup [S$4.50 f...

Gyu & Tori - Chicken and Beef Specialist in Paragon Basement

Sometimes, having too much choice may not be a good thing after all. Having too many choices can make it hard to make a decision.   That is exactly how I feel about the varied food options in Paragon basement. There are so many great choices, I am at a loss of what I should eat.    If you are ever like me, let me introduce to you Gyu & Tori, a small Japanese-inspired rotisserie stall opposite Famous Amos. This stall specializes in two main ingredients, gyu (beef) and tori (chicken).      The menu is pretty straightforward. The chicken menu is on one side and beef menu on the other side.      The chicken has such a beautiful name -   Sakura Rotisserie   - although I don’t taste any sakura. You can buy   Quarter   (with 1 side) [S$8.90],   Half   (with 2 sides) [S$16.90] or   Whole   (with 3 sides) [S$29.90] Sakura Rotisserie.     There are 10 yummy sides to choose from: Japanese Rice, ...

Gerry's Grill - Filipino Restaurant at Starhub Centre

Singapore is truly a melting pot of many different cultures and cuisines. There are Chinese, Western, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Italian and many other exotic cuisines in Singapore.      Gerry’s Grill serves Filipino food, a cuisine I have yet had the chance to try.   Thank you to my Filipino colleagues for introducing me to Filipino food.      Gerry’s Grill is apparently quite popular, it is available in the Philippines, United States of America, Qatar and Emirates.    Let me introduce to you some of the more popular Filipino dishes. The name of the dishes may vary slightly from restaurant to restaurant, but at least you will know what to order at a Filipino restaurant.      Chichabits   [S$7.95] is the Philippine name for  the fried pork skin that the Philippines is famous for. It is super crispy and sinfully-tasty. Gerry’s Grill’s version has bits of meat attached to the skin, which makes it ev...
