My Dining Room 尚苑

My Dining Room is a Singapore-based Cantonese restaurant that took up residence in Suntec City after the six-month renovation.  Besides the usual Cantonese dishes, My Dining Room also has a detectable selection of dim sum, which I have been dying to try.        I agree that they are rather generous with the crab roe and the ingredients, but there's nothing special about   Steamed Siew Mai with Crab Roe 蟹黄蒸烧卖   in terms of taste.      My doctor once told me the quality of har  gow lies in whether whole shrimps or minced shrimps are used and I am happy to note that   Steamed Shrimp Dumpling 尚苑鲜虾饺   are packed with whole shrimps but the shrimps are not as juicy as J oyden Canton Kitchen's  Steamed Imperial Prawn Dumpling "Har Gao" .        Steamed Glutinous Rice with Chicken in Lotus Leaf 珍珠糯米鸡   is satisfyingly oily. The chicken and glutinous rice are well-marinated and tastes great together....

Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant - Handmade Dim Sum since 1962

Located at the heart of Jalan Besar, Swee Choon has been serving delicious dim sum to Singaporeans from all walks of life for almost 50 years. The restaurant is still decorated like a traditional coffee-shop in the olden times, but much cleaner and well-lit. The walls are decorated with photos of celebrities who have patronized the restaurant.       Swee Choon is well-known for their Dim Sum (Steamed and Baked/Fried) , but some people may not be aware that they also have Appetizer, La Mian, Cooked Dish, Soup, Rice/Noodle and even Dessert. With more than 100 items to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone.     I am not very fond of   Lotus Paste Pau 莲蓉包   because I find the paste too sweet.     Don't be deceived by the humble appearance of the Plain   Chee Cheong Fun 猪肠粉   because it tastes so good, we actually ordered two more plates. Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant at Capitol Piazza

After a major renovation, Capital Building has been transformed into the elegant Capitol Piazza housing many international luxury brands and famous international restaurants.    My doctors decided that they had enough of Tung Lok and they want to have a change, so it was decided that  we shall have our annual Chinese New Year dinner at the renowned Four Seasons Chinese Restaurant at Capitol Piazza.          What is a Chinese New Year meal without yu-sheng? At Four Seasons, it is named   Bountiful Harvest Salmon Yu-Sheng 风生水起 (三文鱼生捞起) . Smoked salmon is used instead of raw fish, mixed with shredded vegetables and tossed with a variety of sauces and condiments.
