Chateraise (CityLink Mall)

Chateraise originated from Yamanashi Prefecture and it is hugely popular in Japan with 460 stores around the country. This popular Japanese patisserie brand landed in Singapore for the first time in 1 April 2015 and Chateraise proved its popularity in Singapore with 21 stores spread around this tiny island in just 2 years.    Using high-quality ingredients sourced from Chateraise's contract farms, Chateraise uses production method that brings out the best of out the fresh ingredients.      I have read from SethLui and DanielFoodDiary that the Toa Payoh outlet is the only Chateraise outlet with seating, but Toa Payoh is a little out of the way for me, so I decided to make do with trying out some of Chateraise's signatures at the newly opened CityLink outlet.          Chateraise's CityLink Mall outlet features glass display cabinets showcasing cakes, pastries, baked goods, Japanese confectioneries, rice cakes, chocolates, pan pizza,...

I would like to thank Fujiyama Dragon Curry for inviting me to attend the grand opening of Fijiyama Dragon Curry's first outlet at Orchid Hotel.      Fujiyama Dragon Curry originated in Hiroshima and now this Japanese curry restaurant can be found at the basement of Orchid Hotel,   besides   a few of my   favourite   restaurants such as Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King and Gyoza King.    Step 1: Customize your topping or choose from one of the following: Cheese Curry [$15.70], All Topping Wild Curry [$19.70], Garlic Pork Belly Curry [$15.70], Breaded Deep Fried Pork Curry [$16.70], Garlic Pork Belly with Cheese Curry [$18.70], Fujiyama Dragon Curry [$12.70] or Deep Fried Chicken Curry [$15.70].  Step 2: Choose the spiciness level (the "spicy" is only mildly spicy).  Step 3: Decide on the size of your rice: regular or upsize. You can also opt to change your white rice into multi grain rice. The multi grain rice is made up of 16 Jap...

Tottori Night at Japan Rail Cafe

I would like to thank J Passport for inviting me to attend Tottori Night, a program that is jointly organized by Tottori Prefectual Government Tourism and Japan Rail Cafe.        Thank you Japan Rail Cafe for providing the venue for this wonderful event. Japan Rail Cafe brings you the latest on travel and information about Japan. There are delicious foods, the retail section where you can buy Japanese souvenirs and workshops conducted by native Japanese. Please visit Japan Rail Cafe's website for more information.    Japan Rail Cafe publishes a monthly newsletter that also serves as its menu and the Region of The Month is none other than Sai'in (Tottori and Shimane). I have attached a copy of the Guide Map for Route Romantique Sai'in (English) which shows all the best attractions in the Sai'in region (which consists of the Shimane and Tottori prefectures).    I ordered the Tottori Kani Chirashi Don where the sweet tamago, diced cucumber, ik...

World Food Fair 2017 - I Feel Totally Cheated!

World Food Fair has been running for 14 years but I have never really had the time nor interest to attend. A few days ago, my colleague excitedly showed me a video by Eatbook that showed some really good food such as Lobster Laksa, Cheese-Stuffed Chicken Chop and Frozen Fruit Stick. I was intrigued so I decided to visit the World Food Fair at Singapore Expo Hall 5 which was held from 7-10 September 2017 from 11 am - 10 pm daily.    The event boasted "over 1000 international food treats and food savings" but from what I saw, more than half of the stalls were local merchants such as Zheng Zhong Ping, Fragrance and Bee Ching Hiang.    One of the more interesting stalls was the Foodzbury stall that sold Frozen Fruit Stick. There is a choice of Mon Thong Durian and Nam Dok Mai Mango, but the mango was already sold out by the time it reached my turn, so I got a stick of the Mon Thong Durian [$5]. It is real durian that is frozen with the seed still inside! Ever...
