Ma Ma Spin Pot 麻姐旋转火锅 (Woodlands) - Garden-Themed Hotpot Restaurant

It has been more than a year since I last had hotpot at Bugis Hotpot & BBQ Buffet. I searched Google for a hotpot place and Ma Ma Spin Pot 麻姐旋转火锅 sounded interesting. I read that conveyor-belt hotpot is not a new concept but this is my first time to one so I am still pretty psyched.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Restaurant Front Night

Ma Ma Spin Pot 麻姐旋转火锅 is located opposite Woodlands East Industrial Estate, it is a little inaccessible. The only bus available is 858, most people will choose to walk 15-20 minutes from Admiralty MRT.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Grab & Go Charger
Ma Ma Spin Pot 麻姐旋转火锅 is decorated in garden-theme with leaves and flowers hanging down from the ceiling. There is a claw machine in front of the entrance and Grab & Go Charger where you can rent a portable power bank at S$1 for 24 hours.

Ma Ma Spin Pot 麻姐旋转火锅 is not halal-certified but there is a huge sign next to its SafeEntry sign that says “no pork no lard” so I believe it is safe for Muslims to dine here.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Conveyor Belt

There are two types of seats - counter seats with individual pots or group seats with shared pots.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Collagen

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Mushroom

There are 10 soup bases to choose from, my girlfriend and I chose Collagen 胶原蛋白汤 and Mushroom 美颜菌汤. The collagen soup are literally huge chunks of collagen blocks which melts to form a thick delicious collagen soup. The mushroom soup is made with different types of mushrooms that produces a clear and flavorful soup.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Condiments

There is a huge sauce station next to the entrance with more than 15 sauces to make your preferred concoction. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to reduce cross-contamination, customers are not allowed to take their own sauces. There is a form where you can select the sauces you want and the staff will take them for you.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Ingredients

This is supposed to be a conveyor-belt hotpot restaurant but there are only a few miserable plates of  ingredients on the conveyor belt. The plates are color-coded.

Again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you are encouraged to order your ingredients from this form and the service staff will deliver them to you.

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Grilled Items Menu

Ma Ma Spin Pot - Grilled ItemsIf you want to have something to nibble on while your hotpot cooks, you can order from the Grilled Items and Main Dish menu. Grilled Fish (Mala or Sichuan Vegetables) [S$26.80] is supposed to be a signature dish of the restaurant. The Mutton Skewers [S$2 per stick], Mid-Wing Skewers [S$2 per stick], Cuttlefish Skewers [S$2 per stick] and Bacon Enoki Skewers [S$2.50 per stick] are superb.

PAUL

PAUL is a renowned family French bakery and patisserie founded in 1889. Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg. Emmental cheese, cream and ham is sandwich in pain de eie and toasted till a rich golden brown colour.                         Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. I have been told that their Signature Oven-Baked Honey Bread is very good. The flavours include Strawberry & Chocolate with Ice Cream, Banana & Chocolate with Ice Cream and Green Tea with Ice Cream.     I was told that   Mango Cheesecake Bingsu   is one of the most popular item on the menu. Oh my, it is a sight to behold! A bowl of shaved ice is topped with sweetened condensed milk and freshly-cut m...

Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
