Treasures Yi Dian Xin by Imperial Treasure (Paragon)

It has been more than 2 years since I last did an review on Treasures Yi Dian Xin (Raffles Place). I have been craving for dim sum recently, so I decided to try out Treasures Yi Dian Don’s outlet at the basement of Paragon Shopping Centre.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Menu

This is Treasure Yi Dian Xin’s menu, which can also be found on their website

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Shrimp Wanton Noodle

Shrimp Wanton Noodle 鲜虾云吞面 [S$10.40] is a classic Cantonese noodles dish. The wantons are plump with bits of prawn and the noodles are well-cooked but the soup is rather bland.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Century Egg & Lean Meat Congee

I have developed a taste for Century Egg & Lean Meat Congee 皮蛋瘦肉粥 [S$10.80] recently. A good bowl of Cantonese porridge is one where the grains are cooked down to a smooth and creamy texture. The creamy and pungent century egg gives the otherwise plain lean pork porridge a little richness.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Steamed Rice Roll with Roasted Duck

We tried the popular Steamed Rice Roll with Roasted Duck 烧鸭蒸肠粉 [s$8.60] it is an interesting combination. The steamed rice roll is silky smooth and the strips of roasted duck between the folds of steamed rice roll is not too gamey.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Pan-fried Chive Dumpling

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Pan-fried Chive Dumpling (Inside)

Pan-fried Chive Dumpling 香煎韭菜粿 [S$6 for 3 pieces] is one of the new additions to the menu. Chive and minced pork filling is wrapped in a thick glutinous-like translucent skin and pan-fried till slightly browned on both sides. Not only does it look appetizing, the aromatic combination of chive and minced pork makes it very tasty.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Steamed Beancurd Skin Roll with Oyster Sauce

Another new item is Steamed Beancurd Skin Roll with Oyster Sauce 蚝皇鲜竹卷[S$6.30]. Steaming allows the beancurd skins to fully absorb the fragrance of the oyster sauce, resulting in beancurd skin that is juicy and fragrant.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Steamed Salted-Egg Yolk Black Custard Bun

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Steamed Salted-Egg Yolk Black Custard Bun (Inside)

Last but not least, Steamed Salted-Egg Yolk Black Custard Bun 黑金流沙包 [S$6.60 for 3 pieces] that Treasures Yi Dian Xin is famous for. The black-colored bun is soft and fluffy while the golden-yellow salted-egg custard has just the right balance of sweet and salty. Be careful of the hot and fragrant custard!

Treasures Yi Dian Xin - Osmanthus Jelly

A friend once told me that osmanthus jelly is the true test of a dim sum master’s skill. Treasures Yi Dian Xin’s Osmanthus Jelly [S$5.80 for 3 pieces] is not too sweet with an alluring fragrance of osmanthus and sweetness from wolfberries.

Treasures Yi Dian Xin is one of my favorite restaurant for dim sum in Singapore. You can be guaranteed of the same great quality across all 4 outlets. New dishes are regularly introduced so do come down to check them out from time to time.

If you are a dim sum lover like me, you definitely have to check out the dim sum at Mouth Restaurant, Red Star Restaurant and Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant

PAUL

PAUL is a renowned family French bakery and patisserie founded in 1889. Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg. Emmental cheese, cream and ham is sandwich in pain de eie and toasted till a rich golden brown colour. Topped with a fried egg with runny yolk, every bite is filled with delicious goodness.   Address and telephone n...

O'ma Spoon

Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. I have been told that their Signature Oven-Baked Honey Bread is very good. The flavours include Strawberry & Chocolate with Ice Cream, Banana & Chocolate with Ice Cream and Green Tea with Ice Cream.     I was told that   Mango Cheesecake Bingsu   is one of the most popular item on the menu. Oh my, it is a sight to behold! A bowl of shaved ice is topped with sweetened condensed milk and freshly-cut m...

Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
