I have long heard of Bukit Purmei Lor Mee and how many Singaporeans claim it’s the best lor mee in Singapore. I am not a die-hand fan of Bukit Purmei Lor Mee like Miss Tam Chiak , I only went there to see if this lor mee is really worthy of the hype. Bukit Purmei Lor Mee has been around since the 1950s. It started operations in Bukit Ho Swee and later moved to Tiong Bahru and Bukit Purmei. Unfortunately, the stall owner, Uncle Teo, suffered two heart attacks and closed the stall in 2018. Three years later, Bukit Purmei Lor Mee has reopened in Bugis, in Cheng Yan Court coffeeshop opposite Bugis+. Bukit Purmei Lor Mee is available in $3.50, $4 and $5 portions. The thick gooey sauce is made with a combination of pork ribs, egg whites and five-spice powder.
