The Go Gi Jip Korean BBQ - Korean BBQ Restaurant

Two restaurants in Singapore serves Korean marinated raw crab, ganjang gejang.  I have already been to Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant, today I am visiting The Go Gi Jip to try out their ganjang gejang among other things.

The Go Gi Jip - Interior

There is very limited reservation at The Go Gi Jip, most likely you will have to go down and queue. The Go Gi Jip is a very popular restaurant, so be prepare to wait at least half an hour to an hour.

The Go Gi Jip - The Food

The Go Gi Jip - Soy Marinate Raw Crab

I have read reviews that The Go Gi Jip's Soy Marinated Raw Crab [SS65] is tastes better than Guiga's because it does not have a fishy taste. They taste the same to me, except that this time I got the ala carte version so I got a full-sized crab instead of the small one I got as part of a lunch set.

The marination process has broken down the tissue fibres, so the meat is all gel-like. Squeeze it out from the body and it tastes amazing with rice. No wonder people call it "rice stealer". Remember to leave some rice to eat with the golden "mustard" in the shell.

The Go Gi Jip - Beef Large Intestine

I watched a lot of Korean Youtubers doing beef large intestine mukbangs. The Go Gi Jip is one of the Korean restaurants in Singapore that sells Beef Large Intestines (180g) [S$22].

The Go Gi Jip - Beef Large Intestine Cooked

I am not sure if it is because I cooked the intestines for too long, but they are super rubbery. So rubbery that I can't bite through it no matter how long I chew. And it comes with lots of fats inside the intestines, which grosses me out. I am never having beef large intestine ever again.

Many Youtubers also did beef tartare mukbangs which made me curious to try it for myself. The Go Gi Jip's Korean-style Beef Raw (Yuk Hwe) [S$38] comes with slices of cheese and sweet soy sauce.

The ball of beef tartare sits on top of a bed of pear, spring onions and raw egg on top. The correct way to eat is to mix the spring onions and raw egg with the beef. To be honest, that bloody-red ball of beef looks a little intimidating, but it turns out to be really tasty. The soy and sesame marination brings out the natural flavour of the beef. It tastes almost like beef candy, eat it with cheese for a creamy texture. It's so good, I finished the whole plate by myself.

Iberico pork is considered the finest pork in the world. Iberico pork is raised free range on Spanish pastures and fed a natural diet of grain, corn, wheat, grass and forage. No growth hormones or antibiotics are ever used.

The Go Gi Jip - Meats

Since iberico pork is one of the signature meats at The Go Gi Jip, I ordered a plate of Iberico Pork Jowl (180g) [S$25] to try. Pork jowl is a cut of meat from a pig's cheek. Just as the staff described, the meat was tender and juicy without being overly fatty. It's perfect for ssambap (Korean lettuce wraps).

The Go Gi Jip - Cooked Meat

The Go Gi Jip is a great Korean BBQ restaurant that uses charcoal barbecue. There is a good range of Korean dishes, some of which are not common in Singapore.

Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg.                         Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
