Meet 4 Meat - Cheapest Beef Wellington in Singapore

A friend recently recommended Meet 4 Meat for the cheapest Beef Wellington in Singapore. Beef Wellington is a classic English dish, named after Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington. Beef Wellington has always been an expensive dish as it uses tenderloin, the tenderest and costliest cut of beef. I have never had beef wellington before so I made a trip to Meet 4 Meat to try their beef wellington. Location Meet 4 Meat is one of the stalls in Brunners Coffeeshop, a coffeeshop along East Coast Road. It’s a little hard to find, you will have walk 30 minutes from the nearest Eunos MRT station. The Food This is the revamped menu. Sadly, quite a few of the dishes that I wanted to try are no longer available. This is their signature   Beef Wellington   [S$35] where 180g of Australian tenderloin is wrapped in mushroom duxelle and puff pastry. Meet for Meat does their beef wellington in individual buns to better control the temperature. This is actually my first time tryi...

Lang Nuong Viet Nam - Authentic Vietnamese BBQ and Cuisine

I am familiar with Chinese hotpot, Japanese shabu-shabu, Korean BBQ and Thai mookata but I have not tried Vietnamese BBQ. A search on Google reveals that the one and only Vietnamese BBQ in Singapore is Lang Nuong Viet Nam in Foch Road. I wanted to see what’s so special about Vietnamese barbecue, so I gathered a few of my friends to check it out. Decor Lang Nuong Viet Nam is decorated like a traditional roadside stall in Vietnam with walls in earthen color. Colorful paper lanterns hang from the ceiling, adding to the Vietnamese feel and warmth to the restaurant. The low metal tables and accompanying lime-green plastic chairs emulate the hustle and bustle of busy Vietnamese streets. The Food At Lang Nuong Viet Nam, the barbecue is cooked on bucket-shaped stove. Coils at the base ignite the charcoal, which in turn cooks the food on top. We ordered   Premium Pork Belly (Ba Chi Heo   [S$25] and   Lamb Chop (Suon Cuu)   [S$25] plus a plate of   Mix Mushroom Set...

Ms Durian - Mouthwatering Mao Shan Wang Durian Desserts

If you love to eat durians but prefer to have it in a nice environment with air-conditioning, I recommend Ms Durian. History This durian speciality bakery and cafe is the brainchild of Ling Goh and Jeslyn Tan. Ling Goh grew up in a family of durian sellers which cements her love for the king of fruits. She partners her baker friend, Jeslyn Tan and opened this dessert cafe in 2019. The cafe started off as a humble bakery store in Potong Pasir in 2019, before moving to Jalan Besar during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. Decor The building that houses Ms Durian used to be an old police station, no wonder it looks so stately. The cafe retains its mid-century brutalist interior. Ivory white walls interlace with stripes of textured walls gives the place a touch of grandeur. There is also an outdoor patio for alfresco seating. The outdoor seating are pet-friendly so you can bring along your furry friends too. The Food Ms Durian is after all a cafe, so they do offer some light bites such as past...

Mukjja - Korean Chinese Restaurant in Novena

It has been quite a while since I last had   Korean jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk   and I have been craving for it lately. It just so happens that I was in Novena area and I discovered a Korean restaurant called Mukjja that specializes in jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. Location Mukjja is located in Novena Regency. After crossing the overhead bridge outside Royal Square Novena, walk to the right and walk pass Novena Gardens. Mukjja is just behind the bus stop. The Food Mukjja specializes in Korean-Chinese cuisine which jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk fall under. They even have sweet and sour pork sets for 2-3 people to cater to the people who work nearby. Their   Noodle with Black Bean Sauce 炸酱面  [S$10.80] is thick and sweet just the way I like it. The black sauce evenly coats each strand of the thick and chewy noodles. The fried pork pieces are wonderfully crispy but I find the sauce of  Sweet and Sour Pork   糖醋肉   [Small S$24, Large S$43] a little too sour for m...
