Gotti Italiano - Three-Course Executive Set Lunch at $32++

My colleague recently brought us to a new Italian restaurant called Gotti Italiano. It is such a charming place and the food is so good that I really want to share with all my readers.

Decor

It’s cosy and elegant with an air of sophistication inside.

Gotti Italiano - Bar

The first thing you see when you walk through the door is the long bar counter. Dome-shaped glass shelves displaying the various liquors is illuminated with bright orange light. Sit along the grey marble countertop with a cocktail or pte-dinner drink.

The wall painting at the far end of the restaurant gives the place a touch of contemporary charm.

The Food

Gotti Italiano - Executive Set Lunch

We were there during lunch so they gave us the Executive Set Lunch Menu at S$32++ per person. You get to choose a starter (antipasti), a main and a dolce (dessert).

Gotti Italiano - Bread Basket

In Italian restaurants, the meal always starts with a complimentary bread basket. The breads are still warm to the touch and they taste so good with the balsamic and olive oil.

Antipasti

Gotti Italiano - Zuppa Del Giorno

Zuppa Del Giorno which means soup of the day was Tomato Soup. It was slightly more tangy than I expected and topped with crotons, cheese flakes and a dash of oil to give it more flavour.

Gotti Italiano - Caprese

You can never go wrong with burrata cheese (which is known as Caprese here) in an Italian restaurant. Honey virgin tomatoes, balsamic, pine nuts and basil pesto accompanies the small lobe of buffalo mozzarella.

Gotti Italiano - Proscuitto E Melone

Pairing ham and melon is another classic Italian appetiser, otherwise known as Prosciutto E Melone. The ham is supposedly 24-months old but I can't really tell the difference except it pairs well with the sweet rock melon.

Gotti Italiano - Capesante Affettate

After having Alma by Juan Amador's Bafun Uni, I have developed a liking for cold seafood desserts. The Hokkaido scallops in Capesante Affettate taste almost like jelly with a delicate sweetness. Pair the scallops with the accompanying salmon ikura, orange pulp and ponzu yuzu for different textures and taste combinations.

Mains

Gotti Italiano - Filetto Di Manzo

You can't go wrong with a nice Filetto Di Manzo. The grain-fed beef tenderloin is tender and juicy, served with roosted potatoes, Belgium endive, mushroom ragu and beef juz.

Gotti Italiano - Maiale Iberico

What is even better is the Maiale Iberico. These Spanish iberico pork jowl slices are so tender, they literally melt in your mouth. Pair the pork jowl with the accompanying carrot puree, onion chutney and red wine sauce for a different taste in every bite.

Desserts

Gotti Italiano - Panna Cotta CiliegiaGotti Italiano - Creme Brulee

I find Gotti Italiano's dessert menu rather boring. Both Panna Cotta Ciliegia and Creme Brûlée are classic yet common Italian desserts. I wish there were something new.

Conclusion

Gotti Italiano's classy and contemporary setting makes this place perfect for dates. The Executive Set Lunch is quite a steal at S$32++ for a three-course meal.

PAUL is a renowned family French bakery and patisserie founded in 1889. Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg.                         Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
